D-Shaped Moss pole - Starter Kit - Honeycomb
Give your climbing houseplants the support they need to grow upwards, develop stronger aerial roots and produce impressive mature growth.
Our D-Shaped Modular Moss Pole combines a moisture-retaining enclosed back with an open honeycomb front, creating a supportive growing surface for climbing plants such as Monstera, Philodendron, Pothos, Syngonium and Rhaphidophora.
Designed and 3D printed in the UK from durable PETG, the modular system grows alongside your plant — simply add another section when your plant reaches the top.
Why Choose a D-Shaped Moss Pole?
Unlike fully open moss poles, the enclosed back helps reduce moisture loss from the sphagnum moss while the honeycomb front gives aerial roots access to the moist growing medium inside.
The flat-backed D-shape also keeps the moss where it's needed — facing your plant — while creating a clean, decorative appearance from the front.
Modular – Extend It as Your Plant Grows
There's no need to replace the entire moss pole when your plant outgrows it.
Each section connects securely to the next, allowing you to extend your moss pole as your plant climbs.
Choose your starting height and add compatible D-Shaped Moss Pole Extensions whenever you need more growing space. Extensions can be found here: D-Shaped Moss Pole Extensions | Extendable Plant Support – Pot It Like It's Hot
Easy Watering
Keeping a moss pole moist can be one of the biggest frustrations of using one.
That's why the starter kit includes our top-mounted water feeder, designed to gradually distribute water into the sphagnum moss from above.
Simply refill when required and let the water work its way through the pole.
Made from Durable PETG
Our moss poles are 3D printed using PETG rather than PLA.
PETG is a tough, moisture-resistant material, making it particularly well suited to an environment where the pole is regularly exposed to damp sphagnum moss, water and humid conditions.
Designed & 3D Printed in the UK
Every moss pole is produced by Pot It Like It's Hot in the UK.
Choose from 11 colours, with separate colour options for the honeycomb face and enclosed back, allowing you to create a combination that suits both your plant and your space.

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I fill the moss pole with?
We recommend sphagnum moss. Moisten the moss before filling the pole and gently pack it inside without compressing it excessively.
Why does the moss pole have an enclosed back?
The enclosed rear reduces the amount of moss directly exposed to the surrounding air, helping it retain moisture for longer than a completely open design.
Can I make the pole taller later?
Yes. The pole is completely modular. Compatible extension sections can be added as your plant grows, so you don't need to replace the original pole.
How do I water the moss pole?
The included top-mounted feeder allows water to gradually move down through the sphagnum moss. How frequently you need to refill it will depend on temperature, humidity and the size of your pole.
What is the moss pole made from?
Each pole is 3D printed from durable, moisture-resistant PETG.
Will it make my Monstera leaves bigger?
A moss pole gives climbing plants a vertical support that their aerial roots can attach to and grow into. Mature leaf size is also affected by factors including light, nutrition, watering and the maturity of the plant, so larger leaves cannot be guaranteed.
Can I choose the colours?
Yes. Choose from 11 colours, with separate options for the honeycomb face and enclosed back to create your preferred combination.
